One of the approaches to fasten satellite communications is to combine both Cryptography and Convolutional Coding into a single process called crypto-coding. As there exist several crypto-coding approaches, a new approach is supposed in this project for crypto-coding based on the neuro-fuzzy to be applied in the receiving devices to increase the virtual throughput over the wireless channels and to provide the adabtibility for the receiving devices with the transmitter devices.
The common coding process applied for the wireless and satellite communications is the convolutional coding. The reason of applying the approach of the neuro-fuzzy for crypto-coding in the receiver antennas is that convolutional decoding is much more complex than convolutional encoding so that applying the decoding and decryption in two steps will cause a significant delay for the large amounts of data. In addition, it will be no longer possible to apply the usual mathematical operations for decryption as it will be combined with decoding into a single process. Therefore, the aim of the approach of the neuro-fuzzy is to perform the the combined process of the crypto-coding.
The role of the fuzzy logic sub-process would be to provide an alternative method for the mathematical processes of decoding which will be no longer applicable because of the combination between decoding and decryption. The role of ANNs sub-process would be to utilize its predicting capability for error detection and correction. In addition, the fuzzy logic sub-process would perform a partial functionality in decoding to reduce the complexity of convolutional decoding and the ANNs would perform a partial functionality in decryption which will be no longer be processed on characters but on bits as a result of the combination with coding where ANNs deal with bits.
